Mobile Elevated Platform
Topics covered include: Understanding the relevant health and safety regulations, Identify accident prevention and control, PPE, Drive the MEWP safely and manoeuvre it in a correct and proper manner, inside and outside of a building, carry out pre-use checks and daily maintenance before starting work, emergency procedures etc
Abrasive Wheels
The course covers different types of abrasive wheel, diamond blades, pre-use inspection to wheels and tools, hazards, correct PPE, fire control, regulations, correct cutting/grinding techniques and correct selection of wheels.
Engineering Skills
The OCN NI Level 1 Award in Engineering Skills will enable individuals to gain introductory skills in engineering.
Learners must successfully complete a minimum of 9 credits, including: Health and Safety in Practice, Repair and Maintenance of Mechanical Equipment, Using Power Tools, Using Hand Tools, Communication Skills for Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Theory for Engineering
Scaffolding

The qualification is the approved and certified course of the CEF. The course will contain construction specific examples/case studies to increase candidate learning experience. All successful participants (following successful completion of a multiple-choice exam) will be provided with a certificate and card

Computerised Accounts SAGE
Computerised Accounts Level 1 (Using SAGE accountancy software) The aim of this course is to develop confidence and gain practical skills, to operate computerised accounts software and carry out routine accounting tasks. This will include entering sales data and printing reports. Learners should have basic keyboard skills. The course is normally delivered over 16 weeks at 2 hours per week, using the College’s state of the art facilities.
Learners will use computers and accounting software, through the support of a qualified tutor, in a practical way by using real life examples and tasks. Learners also have the opportunity to work in small groups and share their experience. There is a certified end of programme assessment that is widely recognised across industry and recognises the learner’s achievement. Learners can progress to Level 2 with the College. A significant number of organisations now use some form of accounting software and actively seek people with skills in this area.
